PROJECT # 1. NUTRITION AND DIET DEADLINE:
- Introduction: nowadays, nutrition is consider as one of the most important social factors having a direct impact on our health. The amount of processed foods reachable daily and the importance of aesthetic values in our society have made diet and weight control one of the most relevant topics we can approach in our subject.
- Task: this project will have three parts. On the first one, you will have to (1) keep record of your daily food intake during one entire week. Please, be as specific as possible when describing what you eat and how much you eat. Along with that information, you must add your personal weight and height. You will hand out the record file to the teacher.
Once we all have that information you will be given one of the anonymous records from one of your fellows. That's when the second part of the project begins. Considering that information you must write an (2) evaluation about the dietary habits of your partner. You must use the items included in the Nutrition and Diet Notes you can read on this link: Nutrition an Diet Notes.
For the third part of the project you will have to create any kind of (3) display or artifact (video, poster, flashcard, leaflet, etc...) that helpsyou partners remenber the most valuable dietary guidelines to follow below your point of view.
In your final report you can't forget some basic conclusions:
* Areas that need improvement.
* Suggestions for improvement.
* Main risks to be suffered according o the daily habits.
- Final Product: hard copy or PDF in you are sending it by email (First and second part). You can use any format for the third part of the project.

PROJECT # 1.A HUMBLENESS DEADLINE:
After watching the talk: http://educaolimpicos.weebly.com/blog/humbleness, write an abstract with your personal point of view. Use the following questions as guideline.
- What is FAILURE to you?. How does your failure understanding make you feel?
- What do you think your gifts and choices are?
- Think and write about the consequences of your gifts and choices in others?
PROJECT # 1.B FITNESS AND HEALTH MYTHS DEADLINE:
- Introduction: we can define a MYTH as an idea or story that is believed by many people but that is not true (Merrian- Webster Dictionary).
In terms of health and fitness there are many myths or half truths that may harm people (e.g. you can get a flat stomach with any kind of sit up exercise). It is now your time to become a Mythbuster and reveal the truth...
- Task: within your working group, look for one of those myths and prove that it is a lie. You must find as many myths as members in the group.
Each group will have a different general topic which should lead and guide your research.
a) Nutrition and Diet.

c) Healthy/ Unhealthy Habits.
d) Equipment.
e) Misleading Advertisement.

There are many web resources where you may find myths or misconceptions about physical activity and health. Don't use only the following links and just use them as an example:
- Myths and legends related to physical activity.
- Top 10 Physical Activity Myths.
- 3º ESO Fitness Notes.
- Working Groups: each group will have to split into five groups and topics will be assign randomly.
- Specific Requirements: write the resources and BIBLIOGRAPHY used. At least three sources per myth presented.
PROJECT # TRAINING METHODS. DEADLINE:
- Introduction: during this term we have been working on different Training Methods and Systems. You have been able to experience the benefits and special features of interval, continuos or explosive training. Now it's is time for you to create a new session showing that you know what to use to achieve different objectives.
- Task: you must prepare with your partner a Training Session which should be between 20 and 35 minutes minutes long. You must respect the following parts: WARM UP, MAIN PART (specific exercises), and COOL DOWN, specifying the duration of each one.
- Final Product: any kind of presentation format that you want to use to present your project to your partners: Power Point, Prezi, Emaze, wallboard, pamphlets, etc...

You know everything about warm up and cool down phases from previous courses, so I will just help you with the main part. Using the resources you can find on this website (apart from others), answer these questions:
- Objectives of your training session.
- Main features of that training method.
- Physical Quality or Physical Qualities involved in your session. Be as specific as you can and justify the answer. Remember that there are different types of each quality.
- Description of the activities you are going to perform during the session. Write the intensity and the distribution of working and resting periods for every activity.
- Working Groups: in pairs.
- Specific Requirements: write the resources and BIBLIOGRAPHY used. If you are handing in the project by email, make sure to use only PDF or MP4 formats.
USB, DVD or similar will not be accepted.

Watch the documentary “Feed Up” (you may find it on Youtube or “educaolimpicos”).
1.- Warm Up Activity: write a brief abstract of the movie. Give your personal point of view. 2.- Describe the main negative effects of the diet you see on the documentary. 3.- Identify which of your personal nutrition habits match with the ones presented on the movie. 4.- What could you do in your daily life in order to improve your health/ nutrition habits. 5.- Write some useful guidelines for those kids presented on the movie and that will help them improve their diet. |
If you couldn’t achieve the objectives of the Physical Condition Project (2 Term), here you have the “catch up” activity you will have to present.
1.- Describe and define the different physical qualities and the effect on our physical condition. Use the notes you will find on “educaolimpicos”. 2.- Using the file template create drills to develop each of the physical qualities involved in our health. |

We'll try to develop awareness about the impact of different messages and how they affect our role and possition in society.
- Task: you will start by taking a look at this two websites. That will give you the opportunity of understanding better the topic.
